Lindsie & Steve's Calgary Winter Lakehouse Wedding
This wedding was extra special for many reasons. First, the bride Lindsie become a great friend during the wedding planning process with me. She was so laid back and easy to work with. She hired me back when my Mother was just starting to get sick and was so understanding with my scatterbrain then. I would chat with her in my garden later in the evening and often would forget I am speaking to client, she just felt like my old bud!
I got to see some familiar faces at this wedding (Amy, Brittany!) and even made a new friend, Mia. The entire crew of people from the couple’s families, Steve’s Grandpa, who I ADORE and all the friends made me feel very welcome and were all so easy to document.
The wedding was STUNNING, the Lakehouse is probably one of my favorite venues in Calgary. It is RIGHT up my moody low lit alley haha. The wedding was on one of the coldest days of the year with temperatures reaching -40C with the wind-chill. We ended up only being able to go outside for portraits for literally minutes at a time. Their full gallery is full of amazing candids and a whole lot of their reception goodness. I am so proud of this wedding and having such a laid back couple and stunning details to work with made my day a blast.
Their speeches were some of the best I have heard. I knew Lindsie and Steve were amazing people but after hearing their closest people talk about them I grew an even bigger love for these two. I even got bombarded in the bathroom by a sea of female guests all bragging about how incredible Lindsie is… Next bathroom I am bringing my camera because omg it was actually a whole other private party in there that night haha!! HI BATHROOM GIRLS if you are reading this!!

Reliving this day through Sofia’s captures was one of the greatest investments we made for our big day, and having someone that we knew we could not only trust, but also that would go above and beyond to overdeliver made it one of the easiest decisions. Sofia was the bomb to work with, everyone felt at ease in front of the camera and the let the lolsonlols roll. We had some amazing captures but also some of the greatest candid shots of us, our party, and our guests. Cannot say enough good things about this gal and how happy we are with how our pictures/works of art featuring us turned out. Thank you times a million, can’t wait for the next shoot. xx
