Ivana & Bruno's Aston by the Sea Kona Hawaii Destination Wedding
Ivana and Bruno came to me weeks before their wedding thanks to an old mutual friend searching for a new wedding photographer. Their previous plans had fell thru and they were last minute searching for a destination wedding photographer. Kinda funny, Steve and I were already planning to be vacationing in Hawaii at the time they were going to be getting married so if I didn’t believe in fate before, I sure did after the timing of this inquiry.
Bruno and Ivana welcomed us into their family and inner circle and I now can say these two are good pals of ours. Tamara, Ivana’s sister felt like an old friend at the wedding and I have even since the wedding had Bruno over for some new headshots and a lil adventure around my neighborhood. I quite often feel like I fit in with families when I travel with them but this intimate crowd of 27 felt very special to me.
I have never been to Hawaii before and the island of Kona I heard was so special because it was like living like a local! It truly was an unbelievable trip and Steve and I fell in love with this big island. We rented a condo in the town of Kona and were walking distance to local cafes, restaurants and even one of the best beaches we have ever swam in. I may or may not have got my ass kicked by a giant wave our first swim… Thank you to my local massage therapist for getting my elbow back in the right spot!! haha! I am clearly not a great ocean swimmer… yet!
We especially fell in love with the beaches north of Kona and decided it was where we would do Ivana and Bruno’s day after wedding portraits at sunset. The Hawaiian sunset did not disappoint and we got some incredible photos for these two. Waialea Beach (Beach 69) is where we shot, and OMG this beach… legit the nicest beach I have ever swam in in the world so far. The rocks are all lava black and rugged paired with warm ocean water and stunning Hawaiian trees literally growing into the ocean. The root systems are all exposed and the sun creates this out of world glow on everything at sunset. The night before the shoot Steve and I literally stayed in the water till the sun completely went down. It was nothing short of magical. You all know I love a lil magic.
Thank you for having me at your wedding you two, I was sad to hear about your previous wedding photographer not working out, but I think it was for the best as I am so happy I got to meet you two, shoot your OUT OF THIS WORLD amazing wedding and now call you two friends.
Everything happens for a reason. <3
Thank you to the amazing wedding team I got to work with that day and a HUGE thank you to my amazing boyfriend Steve for helping me out on this trip and wedding. Love you!
