I met Joanne in a Banff Spring hotel room. We were both working on a pretty amazing wedding that managed to still happen even with the Bride’s dress floating down her Texas street days before her Banff wedding. The couple had a home that was part of the 2017 Houston Floods.

We both worked hard that day making sure our client had nothing but the most flawless wedding experience which she so very deserved.

We have bumped into each other over the years since then, always happy to see each other on wedding mornings when it organically happened. There is one thing for sure about Joanne and her team: They are down right pros when it comes to hair and makeup, they are fun as hell and are the perfect girls you want in your room on a wedding day morning. Bring on the fun energy those days!

Joanne asked me to photograph her team and we collaborated on the idea for the shoot. We wanted to shoot it with more of an editorial vibe.

Here’s how we did it:

We had a beautiful natural studio to work in. My often sidekick Cassie came to help me create the sets. We had each team member come shoot with us for 3 different looks. A natural and professional shot, a more edgy shot with a splash of pink (their branding color) and then a classic black and white portrait.

We had the most incredible help on set in terms of wardrobe. Tina Marie was our on set stylist. She took all the girls wardrobe info such as dress sizes and did an entire pull of clothing from Holt Renfrew to style all the girls in. She also was there to help steam and accessorize some of the girls existing outfits. The shoot truly wouldn’t have been the same without our girl truly Tina Marie there.

The world needs more bad ass female leaders like you Joanne, thank you so much for hiring me and my team for this really amazing day together. Can’t wait to crank the music with ya again soon.
