Katherine & Dylan's Intimate Small Wedding | Bragg Creek Wedding

“Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her”

-The Beatles

Katherine & Dylan’s Intimate Wedding Schedule looked like this:

Golden Hour Hangout while BBQ’d dinner was being grilled

Sunset Fireside Ceremony

Smore’s Cake and Hot Drinks after Ceremony

Twilight Portraits

Night Photoshoot under the Stars

Some words from the couple themselves:

Everything happens for a reason.
.
The big wedding we originally set out to have in August turned out to be a no go due to COVID-19, so we turned it into an epic mini wedding with our nearest and dearest!
.
On Sunday we had the perfect wedding. It was literally like the stars aligned for us. A bear made a surprise visit, the rain held off, the sky turned out brilliant for photos, and all of the most important people were there with us. It was perfect.
.
But talk about non traditional. We decided to do the whole thing backwards, starting with dinner and ending with a sunset ceremony. I wouldn't do it any other way.
.
All the credit to @sofia_katherine for capturing some seriously next level photos of this incredible day.

How long have you two been together?

We have been together for 5 years. We actually moved the wedding up to fall on our original anniversary, so it was 5 years exactly on the wedding day.

How did he propose?

Dylan was home from working up north for Christmas one year and said the one thing he wanted to do was go snowboarding while he was home. But the day he picked was going to be the coldest day of the year so far. A few days before I suggested that we go another day when it was warmer and he was adamant that we go that day. So we went. We snowboarded the day like normal and eventually we went up to the very top of the mountain and he wanted to go down a specific run that looked like pure ice. So I fought it for a bit and he was adamant about this one specific run so we went (and it was pure ice). So we stop at the plateau below the ice and he says his friend who came with us wants to get a picture of us. So as his friend is setting up Dylan jumps the gun and gets down on one knee and proposes (before his friend was ready to take the video). After a few suspenseful moments of shock on my part, I finally agreed.

How did you meet?

We met at a pool hall by accident one day. My friend and I went to a pool hall here in Calgary and picked a table at random. Low and behold, my friend was also friends with the guys at the table next to us, which happened to be Dylan and his friends.

Best memory from the wedding day?

Dylan: It was a tie between the cake 🤤 and seeing kate for the first time 🤣

Advice to couples planning their weddings now?

Don't feel the need to do a traditional wedding. Do your wedding however you want to make you happy.
