One of my favorite moments of the day was when we had the most kind random guy celebrating his birthday out on Lake Minnewanka offer to help the couple get down to lake side for photos. He later let us know he was an extra on The Revenant. There is a shot of him in the blog here if you can spot which extra his is let us know! We would love to say thank you for his help that day! What a nice dude.

I asked Abdullah and Shoroq to share their favorite moment and they literally wrote me a bunch and said “Pick one cuz we can’t LOL!”. I think that is the perfect testament to the day they had. It was literally their perfect day filled with not one but many amazing moments for them. Here is a little list I was supposed to “pick from”. I figured ahhh may as well share them all with you all!

Abdullah & Shoroq’s Favorite Moments of the Wedding Day:

Everyone we love dancing with us on the dance floor going crazy!

Shoroq’s parents slow dancing together for a second hahahah!

Our first dance was really special even tho we didn’t feel like we were ready for it at all.

The Zafa was insane to walk in and see all these ppl there for us (Little disclaimer, the Zafa is the Grande Entrance to us non-Muslim wedding folks!)

Speeches were so heart felt, we couldn’t eat our dinner they were so overwhelming. It was insanely nice to feel how loved we really are. (It’s true, they never ate -Sof)

Advice to couples planning their wedding from the couple:

Don’t make the wedding a big deal…it’s so hard to have fun planning but honestly at the end nothing matters other than you guys are starting something amazing and this is ONLY a step in a long journey together.

Have fun have fun have FUN!!!

The first half of the wedding day, getting ready, photoshoot and all that. Felt like we were living someone else’s life. Everything was planned and we were inserted into the program type of thing. It was definitely something that we didn’t think we would feel. But all the planning all the hard work and all the imaging of this day…and now this is it.

It felt so surreal and definitely didn’t feel like it was our day. We were so taken back and it took some time to sink into reality.

All that said, it was definitely the BEST day, we enjoyed the entire thing. Watching all the small details come together was insanely satisfying.

My new friends!

Thanks for the chats during this wedding process, the laughs and time together. It was such an honour to be hired to document your wedding day and get to create some amazing portraits for the two of you. I couldn’t have asked for more fearless winter clients who were down for anything we needed to do to get those shots.

Hearing your speeches was a highlight for me. There is so many people who love and care about you two so dearly. It is no question in my mind you two are meant to be together.

You two are the epitome of in love. So happy you found each other.

Happy Blog Day Friends.
xo Sof.
