Gyann & Lynda's Calgary Wedding Photography

This was a very special wedding for me to shoot. I found it heartwarming to see how much support there was in that reception room for these two girls. Something that resonates with me especially after watching my own sister April marry her now wife Amanda.

Love is love.

I met Gyann & Lynda thru my good friend Yves (who owns the coolest doggy company)! We attended a fashion photographer’s workshop back in the day together and kept in touch since. I can still remember him showing up to the editing day in a (we think it was a tiger) onsie and thought… I need to be friends with this guy! Can’t thank you enough for sending these two amazing girls my way pal, thank you so so much. <3

Two proposals: Gyann proposed to Lynda in Dublin, Ireland at the green space in front of the Dublin Castle in June of 2017. In February 2018, Lynda proposed to Gyann in front of their new house when it was still under construction with a custom lottery scratch card saying, “Will you be my limited edition for life?” Gyann loves anything “limited edition.”

Lots of love: During the reception, the brides looked at all their guests and thought about how lucky and loved they are. Lynda says, “I am glad we took that moment to appreciate our life. We recognize that our story isn’t the same for all same-sex couples and we are extremely proud of our families. Acceptance from them is an understatement.”

DIY: Gyann and Lynda made their own centrepieces, favours, seating chart and programs to fit their travel theme. The theme was topped off with an airplane cake!

Special moments: Both ladies agree that their words were the highlight of the day. For Gyann, it was reading the pre-ceremony letter that Lynda had written to her, and for Lynda, it was saying her personal vows.
